Hammered (Iron Druid Chronicles, #3)Hammered by Kevin Hearne

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Again Kevin Hearne has managed to create an excellent book.....

As many have pointed out, this is much more serious than the other books. The humour is definitely still there too so don't worry. his other books contained a great balance of humour, action, dirty jokes and obnoxious lines but hammered contained something the others did not have.

Even though the other books all contained something bad, and people died, there was a measure to that and both Hounded and Hexed ended happily. However Hammered was different it was not without it's own humour granted but the outcome of the battle in this book was much more serious and much more dire.

I believe that Kevin Hearne expertly picked the right book to pull such an ending, honestly most authors don't know when or where to put the emotional scenes but he knew exactly where. I pick up a lot of the authors personality in his books and I find that that is what makes them so entertaining, I appreciated the humour and I love the fact that it is so easy to get lost in the world he has painted for us with his words.

As I said from my previous reviews of this series, it is clear that the author is well rounded in his education as well as his knowledge of human behaviour, he expertly managed to put together something that has captured many and will capture many to come. You never know, I can honestly say that this book is of a quality that will probably become one of the great works of this decade maybe even this century!

I'll Shat Kine waiting for Tricked
